So I've been doin a lot of thinking this week... I know, I know, it may be dangerous. And I'm sorry if someone may have been seriously injured during the process, :) but this was important.
I've been thinking about a certain farm animal. Yeah, yeah...farms are smelly and gross...blah blah blah. However, I still want to talk about them.
We are all sheep.
The fact that we are all sheep means so many things. We are all in need of a shepherd. We are all in need of our Father, His sacrifice, and His fulfillment through the Holy Spirit.
We are in this together.
I've wondered recently how I could forget this essential point to our existence---our need for each other in order to draw closer to God. We should be in love with each other because of this. I should be absolutely geeked out to spend time with anyone because I know that they are either filled with the love of Christ or are being worked on by God.
I can and should be in love with people. I need people. I should passionately love people because I know that our Father is either in them or working in them. For those who are in Him, I must rejoice with them!!! No matter who they are or where they come from or whether they are male or female... We are the HUGE body of Christ!-- community! My time with them can and should be a time in which we openly display our affection for each other and for the Creator of all good things. What joy to share in Christ!!! What pure joy to spend time with these people, knowing that our Lord, our AMAZING Lord, is in them!!!
And for those who do not know Christ...yet...
What pure joy it is to reach out to others in the name of Christ. What pure joy to offer this amazing love to them. Why would I want to limit it to anyone? Our Lord is the shepherd of all sheep. I must love everyone because my Lord and Saviour passionately loves everyone. I'm finally starting to understand this concept of huge fellowship and togetherness that so many have called community.
We're all sheep...all of us....the tired, the broken, the meek, the prideful, the joyful, the loving and the sick. We are all beautiful in the sight of our Father.
Despite everything:
"still they were beautiful
everyone's beautiful
all of us crawling on our hands and knees, in need of You"
We should be working toward a life in which we want to draw closer to each other, because our Lord delights in us gathering in His name. We can and should be striving to "ba a a a a" together as one complete group. Everyone is the same...everyone is in need of the love and grace of Christ. My prayer is that this year will not only bring the body of Christ closer together, but that our campus community will be so rocked by the love of Christ, that sheep who have gone astray will run back when they see how Christ's love has rocked the body of Christ.
This probably my most random post EVER.
that's ok.
Have a great day guys. love you so much.
